Break Feast:

The latest Men's Break Feast was held on August 21st, 2010.  The guest speaker was Pete McConnell, Executive Director of the Crossroads Center in Hastings.  There were about 30 in attendance and he gave his talk titled "When it's God's plan, you can't fail," including his testimony about his life and how he ended up at Crossroads.  Crossroads Center Rescue Mission is a Christ-centered, Biblically based homeless shelter with a four-phase program of life recovery for homeless men, women and children. Their mission statement is to "bring glory to God through the helping of people". Crossroads has been serving the homeless in south-central Nebraska for 27 years. They provide three meals every day of the year not only to their guests, but to those who are hungry in the community. They deliver meals in Hastings to people who are shut-in from time to time and provide food baskets to families in need. They also provide shelter to our homeless guests at no charge and clothing as well, and are open 24/7 with staff on duty.
