POBLO (People of the Book Lutheran Outreach) is a mnission society of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.  POBLO is dedicated to bringing the Gospel message of Jesus Christ to all people but especially the Muslims, Kikhi's, and Hindus in India. POBLO is active in evangelizing in areas of the United States, such as Michigan, where there are high concentrations of Muslims.  They are reaching people in Korea, Japan, Bulgaria, Iran, Tunisia, Pakistan, and even a few in Saudi Arabia.  They minister to many ethnic Muslim groups in America such as Sudanese and Somoli immigrants in Wisconsin and Minnesota, as well as refugees and immigrants fom Southeast Asia.  Their approach, in many cases, is to raise up ethnic workers and send themn through alternate training programs to become pastors and teachers.  They are ministering to American women who have married Muslim men.  POBLO is creating new programs and starting from scratch, to identify suitable missionaries, train them, and raise money to send them.
