EXPECTED STUDENT LEARNING RESULTS (ESLRs)

Expected Student Learning Results are what each student should know, understand, and be able to do upon graduation from St. Paul's.   

K-4th Grades

St. Paul’s Lutheran School

 will encourage, equip, and empower students to know. .  

I. I am a child of God!

A. I know that God made me and loves me.

B. I know that Jesus died on the cross to forgive my sins.

C. I know the Bible is God’s word.

D. I know I am God’s servant.

II. I can be a successful leaner!

A. I can solve problems.

B. I can communicate.

C. I can research and use technology.

D. I can experience and respond.

E. I can create.

III. I am a community member!

A. I make the world a better place.

B. I respect the uniqueness of all people.

C. I cooperate with others.

D. I take responsibility for my words and actions.

 

 

5th-8th Grades 

St. Paul’s Lutheran School

 will encourage, equip, and empower students to be. . . 

I.   Christians who. . .

A. Know Jesus as their personal savior through the power of the Holy Spirit.

B. Trust the Bible as the Word of God and guide for living.

C. Acknowledge their sinfulness and need for God’s grace and

         demonstrate forgiveness.

D. Recognize the uniqueness and value of all of God’s children.

E. Follow Jesus’ example of servant hood.

F. Recognize their bodies as gifts of God.

II.  Academic achievers who. . .

A. Formulate, pursue, and attain reasonable goals.

B. Apply problem solving and critical thinking to life situations.

C. Develop and use effective communication skills in listening, speaking, reading,     and writing.

D. Access and evaluate information from a variety of media and technological     sources.

E. Respond to significant concepts by creating intellectual, artistic, practical, and     physical products.

F. Know and care for God’s physical world through observing, exploring,

    experimenting, conserving, and protecting.

G. Experience and appreciate music, art, and drama.

III. Responsible Community members who. . .

A. Demonstrate self-discipline and accept responsibility for their words and

     behavior.

B. Contribute positively to home, school, church, local, and global communities.

C. Demonstrate knowledge, respect, and understanding of diversity in God’s people.

D. Work and play cooperatively.
