  Grandparents Newsletter- June

School Newsletter for November 14, 2008

Movie Night:  We hope you can join us tonight as PAL is sponsoring Kung Fu Panda.  Door open at 5:30 pm with hot dogs and other snacks available for purchase.  Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and pillows!

Innisbrook Orders:  Your Innisbrook orders were sent home Thursday.  Please ensure that you have all items that you ordered and if you have any discrepancies, please let Julie know.

Nino de Navidad:  St. Paul's goal is 200 shoeboxes for our Nino de Navidad program this year.  Your child should have brought home a flyer last week that explains more about the program along with suggested items.  If you need shoeboxes, there is a limited amount available - please see Julie in the office if you would like one.

Thanksgiving Break:  The campus will be closed Thanksgiving week, November 24-28 as the teachers will be attending a Lutheran Schools conference in Long Beach.

Nutcracker:  Britt H. will be performing in the San Diego Ballet's production of the Nutracker this Christmas season.  For more information, please pick up a flyer from the school office.

Lost and Found:  Please take a moment to look in the lost and found for any items that may be yours.  After school on Friday, November 19th, we wil be donating all items to the uniform exchange or to a worthwhile cause.  Also, all lunch boxes left at St. Paul's will be discarded.

Handbell Quartet:  Resound the handbell quartet from Concordia University Irvine will play for our 8:30 am and 10:00 am worship services here at St. Paul's on Sunday, November 16th.  Please join us for an awesome morning of music and worship!

Ink Cartridges:  If you are wondering what to do with used ink cartridges, bring them to the school office as we can use them to help purchase supplies.

Devotions:

Each morning our entire staff particpates in devotions beginning at 7:45 am.  It is our intent that we are finished by 8:00 unfortunately, there are times when we do run over.  We thank you for your patience as we spend a few minutes studying God's Word.

Prayer Requests:  Each week, we like to encourage prayers for and from our school and church community.  If you have a prayer request please let Julie know.

This week we have:

  • Thanksgiving for all of our Veteran's who served our country.
  • Kevin Z's family as his grandpa went to be with Jesus.
  • Ms. Wilson & Mrs. Campbell as they will be running in the Silver Strand Half Marathon on Sunday.

Deployed Moms/Dads:  If your spouse is deployed, or even stationed somewhere else, please let Julie know so we may include them in our deployed prayer list.

Moms' Bible Study:  Moms, you are invited to attend a weekly Thursday morning Bible study at St. Paul's. Even if you can't attend everyweek, you are still welcome!  For more information on the time, place and topic, please read this flyer:  Bible Moms

Donations Requested:  If you are doing fall cleaning and find any of the following items still in good shape, our daycare would love to have them:  baby dolls & accessories, barbies, tonka trucks, hot wheels, puzzles, Thomas the train and track, play dishes, doll cradle and doll stroller.
